Psychodynamic & Developmental Psychology

Works on the relationship between the therapist and client on issues that arise or are experienced, which helps them to look at repeated patterns of behaviour in their past and how it can be adjusted if need be in the present.

It helps them to explore how this may relate to a past experience in the person’s life. It is more of a psychoanalytical psychotherapy where the primary focus is to reveal the unconscious content of a clients’ psyche to gain insight and understanding about themselves in relation to others’ and inevitably aims to alleviate psychic tension.

It reflects on transference, counter transference, projection, the seven stages of development and our unconscious processes to find the deeper meaning and context of our inner pain. Using the works of Freud, Erickson, Winnicot, Klein and Jung.
