Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Is a form of brief therapy that emerged from the USA in the 1980’s. From the onset of therapy, the client and therapist are joined in an understanding that the work to be done is to activate change. The client defines the problem and the main features are to focus on the here and now, with clear specific attainable goals that can be achieved in the time frame available, with an establishment of a good working relationship as soon as possible and the therapist is active and openly influential.
